Community, Industry & Emergency Animal Welfare Support
At Vic Feral Eradication (VFE), supporting our community, protecting animal welfare, and contributing to long-term environmental outcomes is a core part of who we are.
We work alongside landholders, councils, government agencies, industry organisations, and community groups to support practical, science-based vertebrate pest management and animal welfare outcomes across Victoria and Australia.
VFE proudly supports, collaborates with, and maintains involvement with organisations and industry networks such as:
- Victorian Rabbit Action Network (VRAN)
- Rabbit Free Australia
- The Centre for Invasive Species Solutions
- Sporting Shooters’ Association of Australia (SSAA)
- Vertebrate Pest Managers Association Australia (VPMAA)
These industry connections help promote best-practice, integrated pest management strategies focused on long-term environmental protection, biodiversity outcomes, humane control methods, and responsible firearm and pest management practices.
Emergency Animal Welfare Support
During emergencies such as bushfires, floods, storm events, and transport incidents, wildlife and livestock can be left injured, trapped, displaced, or suffering. Where we are safely and legally able to assist, VFE is committed to supporting emergency animal welfare outcomes.
We proudly offer assistance to government agencies, emergency services, wildlife organisations, and community groups at no cost where practical and operationally possible.
Our support may include:
- Humane euthanasia of severely injured wildlife or livestock
- Assistance during livestock or animal transport incidents
- Support during bushfire and flood response operations
- Animal welfare assistance in difficult-access environments
- Coordination with emergency services and authorised agencies
- Use of thermal equipment and field-based capabilities to assist in locating animals
As experienced field operators working in challenging and often remote environments, we understand the importance of acting professionally, ethically, and compassionately during emergency situations.
All assistance is conducted in accordance with relevant legislation, safety requirements, and animal welfare obligations.
